Celebrating Christmas at MINDSville

Celebrating Christmas at MINDSville

Celebrating Christmas at MINDSville

During the course of the year, children from MINDS (Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore) have put up several performances at grassroots events organized by the constituency committees of Aljunied GRC, and Hougang and Punggol East SMCs.

To show our appreciation to our friends at MINDS, WP Youth Wing volunteers visited MINDSville@Napiri on 7 December 2014, to celebrate Christmas with the residents there.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. There were several fresh graduates, and even a few mums and dads who had brought along their children. Every one of us shared the same goal, which was to spread holiday cheer to the residents at MINDSville.

Throughout the whole evening, our volunteers were on hand to bring smiles and laughter to the children. We set up game booths and cheered our hearts out for the children as they played. We accompanied the children during dinner and the performances.

It was truly a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone!

To all parents with special needs children, we would like to dedicate this poem to you (shared by former WP Youth Wing president Koh Choong Yong).
